We are delighted to be working with ImaginePlaces to deliver our public engagement event and develop the design codes and parameters for the Cross Lane Fields scheme. ImaginePlaces, led by Angela Koch, specialise in providing creative and effective facilitation methods and dialogue tools to bring people, insights and information together to create coherent and well-considered places. ImaginePlaces have over 15 years' experience in good place-making, urban planning and design, data analysis, visualisations and survey design. Angela is a Planner and Urban Designer with a notable track record in delivering best practice co-design processes in planning applications, design coding and masterplanning contexts.
The ImaginePlaces co-design methodology is championed by York City Council across all sites of the city's progressive carbon zero and 100% PassivHaus Housing Delivery Programme and sits at the heart of the Mikhail Riches Architects led co-design process. In 2021, the Programme was internationally recognised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) as England's first International Centre of Excellence for High-Performance Buildings. Angela also leads on the engagement work related to the development of a site for around 36 certified Passivhaus homes in Downham for Phoenix Community Housing.
ImaginePlaces' 3D design workshop approach to planning application and masterplanning processes received national recognition as a finalist in the Royal Town Planning Institute's Awards for Planning Excellence 2017 in Plan Making Practice. This hands-on approach to co-design also supported the developer TOWN on the LoveWolverton town centre redesign, a Winner of the National Urban Design Awards 2021 and Best Planning Application in the Planning Awards 2022. Angela's work with Shenley Parish Council on writing the now adopted Neighbourhood Plan and design code for the village was a Finalist in the National Urban Design Awards 2021.
