We have an ageing population and this has presented an increasing need for appropriate care facilities across the country. Geographically there are variances in need compared to quantity and quality of existing supply. 

Lansdown specialises in identifying areas where the greatest need exists finding suitable locations and designing exceptional facilities capable of delivering outstanding levels of care. 

We predominantly work in the nursing care sector. The homes we deliver offer palliative care and rehabilitation services, with a specialist team of nurses and carers on site 24/7.

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted key issues with a significant portion of the UK nursing home stock, including residents in homes with no en-suite provision. Modern, purpose-built facilities with en-suite provision as a minimum are greatly needed to improve the quality of life of residents.  

Redevelopment of Green Belt nursery/garden centre to 80 bedroom modern purpose-built care home. Considerable undersupply of 729 market standard wet room beds within a four mile catchment area by 2026. Circa 28,700 aged 65+ individuals projected within the catchment area by 2026. 

Planning permission granted at appeal in September 2022. The Inspector accepted that the need for the proposal outweighed any perceived harm to the openness of the Green Belt.
